How may we create a brand that captures the culture of chocolate origin, whilst educating, bringing awareness and combating poor sustainability in the Industry?


Balam is a transparent and authentic chocolate brand with sustainability at its core. The brand helps educate consumers on 'real' eco-friendly chocolate and the processes involved. With an equal focus on the community and the planet, the chocolate brand aims to be a fully sustainable product, connect with farmers and have environmentally friendly packaging.

Packaging

USP of this product is the hessian hemp fabric bag the chocolate bars come in. Which is breathable, biodegradable, durable and a very sustainable.

The bag isn’t heavily branded, so it can be reused again for other purposes.

The outer packaging has a minimal tag attached to it, which shows where the cocoa beans were grown and their head farmer.

Made from recycled paper with a wood pulp lining. This not only allows it to be biodegradable but also preserves the chocolate without any plastic involved.

Balam Truck - Experience

To promote Balam Chocolate as a new brand, from research it is found that a mobile pop-up shop is the best way to reach the most amount of people It is low-cost and can be transported to a number of different locations The idea behind the truck was inspired by the South and Central Amercian buses. It is a talking point and is instagramable which can be shared even further. This truck could also be hired out for events, such as weddings and festivals.
